The Boat
The primary boat we will fish out of is “Bon Temps”, a 2021 Conch 27 with bracket powered by twin Mercury FourStroke 300hp outboards. She’s a 27′ long Deep-V boat with a great ride in the waves and chop, a pronounced Carolina Flair to keep everyone dry during the runs, and a hull design to stay stable in drifts and at anchor. No more rolling side to side like you’re in a washing machine on the spin cycle when trying to make your casts! With no obstructions to catch your fly lines and clear deck – Bon Temps is the perfect fly fishing and light tackle platform for chasing inshore stripers, chasing Albies in the fall, casting into the rips looking for the big girls, or chasing tuna offshore. The padded coaming pads around the gunnels allow you to brace against the sides in waves and not go home sore with bruises.
She comes equipped with top of the line electronics from Simrad, including twin NSS Evo 3 16″ MFDs, StructureScan 3d side imaging and down imaging and chirp 2D fishfinder, Navionics Platinum Plus, a Simrad Halo 3 Open Array radar, dual Icom VHF radio with GPS and DSC, and a stereo with bluetooth and speakers if you want tunes on the way.
Under gunnel storage can fit multiple 9-11′ fly rods and 13 rod holders for spinning rods and there’s ample storage for all of your belongings. She has three large high capacity livewells for offshore and bait fishing or storage. For food, snacks, and drinks there is a 85 gallon insulated livewell in the transom that’ll keep everything cold and fresh for multiple days in even the hottest temperatures.
