Effective July 22, 2026 · Fly Guy Fish Guides, LLC, Boston & Cape Cod, Massachusetts
We run a fishing charter business, not a data business. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect when you use flyguyfishguide.com, why, and who helps us process it. Short version: we collect what we need to answer you and run your trip, we never sell it, and your card numbers never touch our systems.
What we collect
- Contact and booking details. When you send the booking form, email us, or book through the AI guide chat, we receive what you enter: your name, email, phone number, party size, preferred or booked trip dates, and any notes you add.
- Chat messages. What you type to the AI fishing guide is sent to our server to generate a reply. Conversations are not stored on our servers; your chat history lives in your browser for the session and is gone when you leave the page.
- Location, only if you share it. The AI guide has a location button. It does nothing unless you tap it and your browser asks your permission; the coordinates are used once to look up nearby fishing conditions.
- Technical basics. Like nearly every website: IP addresses (used for rate limiting and abuse prevention), and standard analytics about page visits via Google Analytics, which sets cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile protects the chat from bots.
How we use it
- To reply to you, plan and run your charter, and send you the things a booking requires: a deposit invoice, confirmations, and trip logistics.
- To keep booked and held dates on our calendar so we do not double-book a day.
- To keep the website working and free of abuse.
We do not sell your information, share it for advertising, or send marketing you did not ask for.
Who processes it for us
A few well-known services do specific jobs on our behalf, and only receive what that job needs:
- Cloudflare hosts the website and stores booking records (name, contact details, trip date, and booking status).
- Intuit QuickBooks creates and emails your deposit invoice and processes your payment on Intuit's own secure page. Your card or bank details go directly to Intuit; we never see or store them.
- Google Calendar holds our schedule, including your name, phone and booked date once you book.
- DeepSeek provides the language model that generates AI guide replies; it receives the text of your chat messages to do so.
- Web3Forms relays website form submissions and booking notifications to our email.
- Google Analytics gives us anonymous-to-us usage statistics.
How long we keep it
Booking and invoice records are kept as long as business and tax record-keeping requires. Lead emails and form submissions are kept as ordinary correspondence. Chat conversations are not retained server-side at all.
Your choices
Want to know what we have about you, correct it, or have it deleted? Email nick@flyguyfishguide.com or call or text 508-936-3474 and we will take care of it, subject to records we are legally required to keep.
Kids
Kids are always welcome on the boat, but this website is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information online. Bookings are made by adults.
Changes
If we change this policy, the new version goes up at this address with a new effective date.
