Stellwagen SE Corner

The Cape-side corner. The southeast edge of Stellwagen sits closest to Race Point and the tip of the Cape, a productive bluefin spot and a natural link to the Cape Cod Bay and Race Point fishing.

The southeast corner of Stellwagen is the corner nearest the tip of Cape Cod, connecting naturally to the Race Point and Cape Cod Bay fishing. It is a short run from Provincetown, and when bluefin are on this edge, the Cape fleet is right on top of them.

The ground

Fish the southeast edge and drop, and pay attention to how it links to the deeper water off Race Point. Bait pushed around the tip of the Cape and along the bank stacks up here.

How to fish it

The usual playbook: troll to find, then jig or pop the fish you locate. When bluefin push bait to the top near Race, the run-and-gun surface game can be spectacular.

Tip Think of the SE corner and Race Point as one fishery. Bait and fish move between them, so if the corner is quiet, ease toward the Race and the tip of the Cape, and vice versa.
